Are you interested in how we got to our work and the DiaSegment brand? I have always been direct, and it won't be any different in this case. We didn't invent stone processing tools, nor stone processing itself. That dates back much further and competes with a completely different discipline for the title of the "oldest profession."
After almost successfully completing my bachelor's studies at the University of Žilina and a demanding period in my life, I realized that it would be a waste for me to just keep studying. By coincidence, during the same period, I was approached by a friend who had experience in selling tools and had been working with stonemasons for some time. He wanted to start a family, and a life on the road was no longer something that fulfilled him. But that wasn't all. It was before 2010, and the global economic crisis was in full swing.
Stone processing is nowhere near similar to wood processing, body filler, or paint, as I initially thought and had some experience with. But it helped me understand the principle. And with this one piece of knowledge, I set out on my journey.
Who is behind the DiaSegment brand?
Even though I have written in the singular until now, from the very beginning, since 2010, my father Anton Šáray has stood by me. Together, we began visiting stonemason workshops and gaining valuable information. Together we analyzed the knowledge we gained, and together we shared the joy of the first shipments of goods. In the basement of our family house, where our first warehouse consisted of a single shoe rack. My father was always a partner I could rely on, and if I needed him, he would go to the end of the world with a bag of tools or anything necessary.
Today, at the time of writing this article, "Grandpa" Tončo is 72 years old and is still active and helpful at work. He is an inseparable part of the team. Sometimes we feel that his role is to show us that life is not just about work. He has a special radar for reminding us of this exactly when we are at 100% work capacity. He is our reason to smile, and he knows it.

We often reminisce about our first business trips, when the condition of our company Felicia made us look more like door-to-door salesmen from the Balkans, how we lost our exhaust pipe, or tipped over a trash can while looking for a stonemason's workshop. Even if modestly, we always gave it our all. We managed to establish stable business relationships with clients and competitors that persist to this day.
With increasing mileage and acquired knowledge, we gradually managed to expand our range. And not just the range. Originally it was names, addresses, and phone numbers. Today, these are people we know—when we meet, we know how their kids are doing in school, how their vacation was, or even how their health is holding up. We know more about each other than just business partners do.

We are only as good as our business partners see us
The trust gained from new clients pushed us forward and motivated us to try new things. Therefore, in 2015, we accepted an invitation to present our company at the KAMENÁR exhibition in Trenčín. First, my father and I had to have a deep discussion about what we actually wanted to exhibit. We had a plan and a vision, but less inventory.
At the same location in 2018, we occupied a much larger space, more than double the exhibition area. By that time, however, prominent companies had been approaching us for a while with offers for cooperation. We were probably doing something differently, perhaps better.

Everything we know, we know from our clients, masters, and business partners
Or rather, the one who asks and listens learns the most. In our case, this is no cliché. The constant expansion of our range is simply a response to demand. Expert advice and experience are gained only through communication with you. Countless business trips and hours spent in workshops are irreplaceable sources of information.
Originally, our product range was focused more on stone processing. By systematically expanding our complementary goods, we included grave accessories and products focused on gilding. This appealed to a wider segment of stonemasons focused on cemetery architecture.
Diamond tools are not only used by stonemasons. They are also used in construction for cutting and drilling concrete or for finishing construction work. These include, for example, concrete polishing or processing wall tiles. It is specifically these last two cases that are currently experiencing a massive boom.
In recent years, however, we have encountered a peculiar phenomenon. Stonemasons focusing on interior design have started processing large-format ceramic slabs and are increasingly "meeting" the detailed work of tilers. And that is another reason to expand our range and cover our clients' requirements.

We know exactly what will follow
An unmistakable brand and progress require a responsible approach and strategy. At first glance, it might seem that the next step would be expanding the workforce with sales representatives or sales managers. Probably not. We don't have that in our plans right now. Maintaining professionalism is our highest priority, so we do not want to take risks associated with an insufficient expert approach.
Among other things, it would lead to increased expenses, which could have a negative impact on product prices. We have the opposite plan. It is important for us to maintain a personal client-oriented approach while not losing our family company image. To top it off, we would like to offer our regular partners and wholesale customers special conditions tailored specifically to them.

If you want to learn to fly, don't learn from chickens
Cooperating with professionals has been and still is the greatest and most inspiring contribution. The ironclad fact is that quality equipment and tools are half of the success. For this very reason, we have our logo on every product. It’s not just protection against fakes. It is also a commitment from our side that our product must work correctly throughout its entire lifespan, not just during the warranty period.
Ask your diamond tool supplier why they don't have their logo on them? Are they ashamed of the quality or the origin?
You will find the DiaSegment brand on all our products
What about us and the competition?
If I'm not mistaken, we are probably the youngest company on the Slovak and Czech markets.
What I am most proud of is that I never had to tell a client, "buy only from us, we'll give you the best prices." Every business relationship was closed based on the partner's decision, an interesting offer, product quality, service, personal affinity, or recommendation. There are many ways a client can find us, and we try to meet them halfway.
I don't think it's entirely appropriate to name specific names or brands, but I don't hide the fact that they have inspired me greatly as professionals—with their approach, image, reputation, and hard work. It wasn't long ago that I received a compliment "face-to-face" from what I consider a top European-level competitor. And what do I value most about that? I value the fact that when we meet, we chat, and wish each other good luck and success. Just like with most competing firms.
I don't want us to be the only ones on the market. I want us to be among the best.
What does DiaSegment look like after 15 years?
Today, it would no longer be fair to speak in the singular. We are still a family business and simultaneously one strong team. It’s no longer just me and my father. After graduating from business academy, my very talented nephew Michal joined us; my uncle Miloš came to help in the warehouse and workshop, and the all-male team was brightened up by the newest member, "Godmother" Katka, who is in charge of the online store. We have grown. And that's not all. On my travels around the world, I met a wonderful girl, later my wife, and 9 months after the wedding, she brought our little boss into the world.
We asked Artificial Intelligence if it knows us and what it knows about us
With a great deal of curiosity, we used the opportunity to ask CHAT GPT what information it had collected about us. To our great surprise, it didn't turn out badly at all:
"The company DiaSegment s.r.o., based in Hliník nad Váhom with a warehouse in Žilina, has been active on the market since 2010. It specializes in the sale of professional diamond tools and equipment intended for stonemasonry, construction, and industrial crafts. In their range, you will find tools for cutting, grinding, polishing, drilling, or milling, as well as chemicals, protective agents, and stonemasonry accessories.
Customers praise the company mainly for its fast shipping of goods, expert advice, and fair approach to claims. Positive reviews on the Heureka.sk portal confirm their reliability – the company achieves 100% customer satisfaction.
DiaSegment emphasizes a professional approach and quality at a reasonable price. Thanks to this, it has built a strong position not only in Slovakia but also in the Czech Republic. The company is thus an ideal partner for anyone looking for effective and quality solutions in the field of stonemasonry and construction work."
Conclusion
I would like to dedicate these final lines to all those who accompanied and supported us on our journey. Whether they were with us for a shorter time, a longer time, or are still with us.
Behind no success is just an individual. There is always someone behind them who supports, motivates, and helps achieve goals. It's colleagues, family, and loved ones. There are no words of thanks that would be worthy enough and capable of carrying the emotion I feel while writing these lines.
A big and heartfelt THANK YOU

I spend most of my time in the field with customers, searching for the best solutions for their specific tasks directly at construction sites or in stonemasonry workshops. These field visits are my greatest inspiration—I then process these practical insights into expert articles to help you navigate the subject matter. As I am often fully engaged in fieldwork, you might not reach me immediately, but I will be happy to give your questions my full attention.
