Diamond Milling Segment M8 – ø 14 × 20 mm
This high-performance replaceable segment is an economical and efficient solution for CNC machining of both natural and engineered stone. It is designed for precision milling, calibrating, and cutting out openings (e.g., for sinks and cooktops) in granite and other hard materials.
Thanks to the modular system with an M8 thread, it allows for quick replacement of the worn part without the need to invest in a complete tool holder, significantly reducing your workshop's operating costs. The segment features a high concentration of premium diamond grit in a durable metal bond, ensuring a long service life and a clean cut without unwanted chipping.
Main Advantages:
-
High Efficiency: Aggressive material penetration thanks to optimized geometry.
-
Economical Operation: You only replace the active cutting part, not the entire adapter.
-
Precision Finish: The 14 mm diameter is ideal for detailed internal radii and shape milling.
-
Versatility: Compatible with most CNC machines using tool holders with a G1/2" thread.
Optimal Working Parameters (for granite and hard stone)
To achieve maximum tool life and a smooth surface finish, we recommend adhering to the following settings:
-
Spindle Speed (RPM): For a 14 mm diameter, the ideal speed is between 4,500 and 5,500 RPM. Higher speeds can lead to bond overheating, while speeds that are too low can cause vibrations and premature diamond loss (pull-out).
-
Feed Rate: When working with granite, we recommend a standard feed rate between 250 – 450 mm/min, depending on the hardness of the specific stone type. When entering the material (plunge), reduce the feed rate to 50% of the nominal value.
-
Depth of Cut (Removal): The optimal lateral removal per pass should be between 0.5 to 1.0 mm. For roughing (shaping), higher values can be used; for the finishing cycle, we recommend minimum removal to achieve perfect smoothness.
-
Cooling: The tool requires intensive internal and external water cooling. Sufficient water flow is crucial for flushing out slurry and preventing "glazing" (dulling) of the diamond segment.
